As construction on its new hospital nears the end, Margaret Mary Health is thrilled to share several major milestones leading up to the facility’s official opening.
Throughout April and May, teams will begin the final phases of preparation inside the new hospital, including cleaning the building, installing medical equipment, setting up furniture and stocking supplies.
A significant focus during these months will also be extensive staff training, including running mock patient journeys that simulate real-world care experiences. These exercises allow team members to refine processes and ensure systems work seamlessly together so staff feel fully prepared to care for patients in the new space from day one.
On Sunday, May 31, MMH will host a community open house and tours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will give community members an opportunity to see the new hospital firsthand and celebrate this major milestone together.
The first official patient day at the new hospital will be Saturday, June 6. Additional details related to the transition and opening will be shared as the date approaches.
“We’re officially on the home stretch,” said Liz Leising, MMH president and CEO. “This project has been years in the making, and we are incredibly excited to welcome our patients, staff and community into a facility that reflects our commitment to innovation and exceptional care.”
Located on the Six Pine Ranch campus, MMH’s new hospital sits on Indiana State Route 229, just north of the I-74 Batesville interchange. The facility is designed to enhance the patient experience, attract new healthcare providers and serve as the anchor of a growing health and wellness campus.
While a decision has not yet been made regarding the future of the existing hospital, MMH has partnered with Colliers, a nationally recognized commercial real estate firm, to identify potential buyers and developers for the site.
