Get school-ready: Schedule immunizations early

Before backpacks are packed and classes begin, make sure your child is up to date on required immunizations. Scheduling early helps you avoid the back-to-school rush while protecting your child from preventable diseases.

Immunizations are available at the Health Center of Batesville, located on State Road 129. Clinic hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To schedule an appointment or verify your child’s immunization status, call 812.932.5105.

Immunization Schedule

Students entering kindergarten should have:

  • 5 Dtap
  • 4 Polio
  • 2 MMR
  • 2 Varicella
  • 3 Hepatitis B
  • 2 Hepatitis A

Students entering grades 6-11 should have:

  • 5 Dtap
  • 4 Polio
  • 2 MMR
  • 2 Varicella
  • 3 Hepatitis B
  • 2 Hepatitis A
  • 1 MCV4 (Meningococcal)
  • 1 Tdap
  • Recommended: HPV Vaccine (2–3 doses depending on age)

Students entering 12th grade should have:

  • 5 DTaP
  • 4 Polio
  • 2 MMR
  • 2 Varicella
  • 3 Hepatitis B
  • 2 Hepatitis A
  • 2 MCV4 (Meningococcal)
  • 1 Tdap
  • Recommended: HPV Vaccine (2–3 doses depending on age)
  • Recommended: 2 Meningococcal B vaccines
