At MMH, our patients speak volumes.

A Hand in Healing

After having a tendon repaired on her pinkie finger, Patti Abbott of Batesville began seeing MMH’s Certified Hand Therapist Lori Yorn, OT for hand therapy to facilitate her healing.

“I’ve been impressed with Lori from the beginning,” said Patti. “She’s very knowledgeable and takes her time with me. I trust her. Our community is lucky to have access to a specialized hand therapist so close to home.”

To become a certified hand therapist, a therapist must have a minimum of three years of clinical experience, including 4,000 hours in hand therapy practice. In addition, the therapist must successfully pass a certification exam and renew the credential every five years through continued professional development.
