Testimonials

At MMH, our patients speak volumes.

Care for all ages

From post-surgery recovery to pediatric therapy, Kevin and his granddaughter, Callie, received personalized care under one roof.

When Allison Wilgenbusch of Sunman learned her daughter, Callie, had spina bifida, she braced herself for the unknown. “I wasn’t sure she would ever walk,” Allison recalls.

At the same time, Allison’s father, Kevin Luers, was facing a challenge of his own. Years of physically demanding work had taken a toll, and severe knee arthritis was limiting his mobility. Though their circumstances were different, two generations of the same family would soon find their paths connected through rehab at MMH.

Callie’s condition limits movement in her legs, and she wears braces for support. Since working with MMH’s rehab team, Allison has seen what she describes as a “night-and-day difference.”

Callie is now standing and crawling, and Allison looks forward to the day she can walk without braces and pursue any goal she chooses.

For Kevin, arthritis had progressed to unbearable, bone-on-bone knee pain. After undergoing a knee replacement with orthopedic surgeon Dr. J.D. Stephens, he turned to MMH’s rehab team for recovery and has made significant progress.

Watching both her father and daughter grow stronger has been especially meaningful for Allison, who is grateful they could receive high-quality care close to home.

“The rehab team has been wonderful,” Allison said. “Both my dad and daughter were even able to work with the same therapist, Abby (Gesell). Before surgery, my dad couldn’t get up and down from the floor. Seeing him able to play with Callie again means everything to us.”
