When 91-year-old Marge Palmer fell and fractured her right arm, the Batesville resident was concerned for several reasons. Not only did the injury interfere with her ability to complete everyday tasks, but she also had concerns it would affect her favorite hobby – golf.

Unable to move her arm, Marge scheduled an appointment with Orthopaedic Surgeon Grant McDonald. After examining her, Dr. McDonald confirmed she had fractured her humerus, the bone which runs from the shoulder to the elbow, put her in a sling and ordered occupational therapy with MMH’s rehab team.

“Dr. McDonald made sure I was comfortable and put me at ease,” said Marge. “I also appreciated being able to receive therapy close to home. It’s a Godsend when you don’t have to drive to a larger city for care.”

After six weeks of rehab, Marge was released from therapy with full function of her arm. “My therapists were thorough, efficient, considerate and all-around excellent,” said Marge. “I’m very thankful for the care I received. Best of all, I’m ready to play golf with my friends this summer.”
