Emergency Services

At Margaret Mary, we offer both Emergency and Minor Care services to meet your needs.

For more serious emergencies, our Emergency Services Department is physician-staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our specialized treatment areas and modern technology enable our emergency medicine team to respond quickly and efficiently. Emergency helicopter transport is available from our hospital campus.

Margaret Mary's Emergency Department features a total of 12 treatment rooms, including:

  • Five general treatment rooms
  • Three major trauma rooms
  • Two Minor Care rooms
  • One OB room
  • One pediatric room

Margaret Mary is serviced by local EMS and paramedic squads and our ESD team works closely to provide the highest level of emergency care. Margaret Mary also serves as a clinical training site for EMS and paramedics. Our emergency team is continuously training to maintain the skills required to treat all conditions ranging from pediatric trauma to advanced cardiac life support.

Member of the Christ Hospital Chest Pain Network

For medical emergencies that require more advanced treatment than we can provide at Margaret Mary, rest assured we have partnerships in place to get you where you need to go. For patients who are having a heart attack, MMH is an accredited member of The Christ Hospital Chest Pain Network. This means our team underwent a rigorous evaluation process to prove that systems are in place to treat and transfer heart attack patients quickly before permanent damage occurs.

Member of the University of Cincinnati Stroke Team

For patients who are having a stroke, MMH uses telemedicine technology to communicate with members of the University of Cincinnati Stroke Team. This partnership allows for faster diagnosis and treatment of strokes, thereby increasing the odds of a full recovery. MMH's emergency services department has received thorough training and evaluation to ensure our staff is well prepared to recognize and treat stroke patients quickly and effectively.
