Health Foundation

Margaret Mary’s tradition of quality health care began in 1932.

Since that time, the hospital has continued to expand and enhance its services to meet the changing needs of its communities. Now, 80 years later, we remain committed to improving the health and wellness of families in southeastern Indiana.

Dramatic changes in the health care industry are putting many not-for-profit hospitals at risk. Challenges include rising costs, shrinking reimbursements, and an increase in the number of uninsured and underinsured patients. All of these factors limit the hospital’s ability to recruit top-notch providers, invest in life-saving technology, and provide important wellness outreach services.

To partially meet these increasing demands, The Foundation was chartered to raise money to enhance hospital programs, services, technology and educational opportunities, and to engage the community as partners in health improvement. The Foundation’s role is to receive, manage and disburse funds to meet current hospital needs as well as ensure long-term growth and viability.

In addition to offsetting financial challenges, a strong foundation can help promote community collaborations, build loyalty and improve awareness of the hospital’s services. The Foundation will also provide individuals and organizations with a reliable and effective means to demonstrate philanthropy, volunteer their support and invest in their community’s wellness. Gifts to the Foundation will make it possible for the hospital’s legacy of quality, compassionate care to continue for generations.
