BATESVILLE, Ind. – As Margaret Mary Health prepares to open its new hospital on Saturday, Aug. 8, the organization has developed a comprehensive plan to ensure a safe transition for patients and the community.

Beginning at 6 a.m. on Aug. 8, anyone in need of emergency care should go directly to MMH’s new hospital at 1155 State Road 229 North in Batesville. Emergency services will remain available without interruption throughout the transition.

The transfer of current hospital inpatients will begin at 6 a.m. and is expected to take approximately two to four hours. MMH is partnering with Lett’s EMS to transport patients by ambulance from the current hospital to the new hospital. To help ensure patient safety, visitor access will be restricted during that timeframe.

During the morning of Aug. 8, some services may be temporarily adjusted, offered at both hospital locations or available on a limited basis. Outpatient lab services and EKGs will be available at the new hospital beginning at 7 a.m. Additional details about temporary service changes and visitor restrictions will be shared directly with those affected in advance.

The Café at the current hospital will close to the public beginning Friday, Aug. 7, and will reopen Monday, Aug. 10, at the new hospital.

Every aspect of the move has been carefully planned to ensure uninterrupted, high-quality care throughout the process. MMH appreciates the community’s patience and understanding and looks forward to welcoming patients and visitors to the new hospital.

Additional updates will be shared at mmhealth.org and on MMH’s social media channels.
