Fireworks can be a lot of fun, but it’s important to stay safe. Follow these six tips to prevent injuries while celebrating Independence Day:

1. Attend a professional fireworks display: Instead of setting off fireworks yourself, consider going to a public display organized by professionals. They have the necessary expertise to handle fireworks safely.

2. Keep a safe distance: If you do decide to use fireworks at home, make sure to maintain a safe distance from the fireworks and the launching area. Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer to ensure you’re at a safe distance.

3. Use protective gear: Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes from any debris or sparks. It’s also a good idea to wear earplugs to protect your hearing, especially if you’re sensitive to loud noises.

4. Follow the instructions: Read and follow the instructions on the fireworks carefully. Each firework may have specific guidelines for safe usage, so make sure to adhere to them.

5. Never relight a dud firework: If a firework fails to ignite or doesn’t go off, do not attempt to relight it. Wait for at least 20 minutes and then soak it in water to ensure it’s completely extinguished.

6. Keep a bucket of water nearby: Have a bucket of water or a hose readily available in case of any accidents or emergencies. This can help extinguish small fires or cool down any burns.

Remember, fireworks can be dangerous if not handled properly, so it’s always better to prioritize safety.
